OU Texas Weekend Has Been a Blast So Far

Certainly, if some organization is keeping track of the numbers of people in town for the Red River Rivalry game between the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma, the sheer number of people is at record levels. And that would have to be true of the number of black alumni of both universities! From Tate’s in Uptown Dallas on McKinney Avenue, to Truth Lounge near Northpark Mall and Park Avenue in Dallas, clubs, lounges and bars catering to the urban music format were packed to capacity! The weather cooperated perfectly; can’t ask for better Fall weather during State Fair than what we’ve been having this weekend. And since OU won, it really made it special (sorry about that, a little bias there, lol, but got love for my Texas kinfolk). Be sure to check out our Instagram page (@AffluentBlacks) for several video clips and pics from day and night parties plus a couple of dining establishments that showed the game. We’ll also be uploading extensive video coverage of this weekend plus other highlights of black life across Dallas Ft. Worth to this site and our YouTube page very soon! Have a great rest of your weekend!
