Hey, Labor Day people! Despite this thunder and lightning start to the Labor Day weekend, we hope you’re enjoying yourselves! There are a lot of things going on all across the vast land of Dallas Ft. Worth, so be sure to subscribe to our DFW Events page.
Of particular interest is the quietly growing nightlife in a few upscale north Dallas suburbs. Shot out to our friends in Ft. Worth’s 7th Street area for bringing up the west side of the metroplex. And now Plano, Frisco, The Colony, Addison and other north Dallas suburbs are dishin’ out the dance vibe in a posh, upbeat way.
One new bright night spot is the new Thursday nights at Club VNYL on the south side of Shops at Legacy in Plano. Hosted by The Throne Group with Xperience Events, and DJ Kayotik and DJ ASAP on the ones and twos, they kicked off Labor Day weekend last night with happy hour and a reverse at 10pm till the wee hours of the morning. They will be back each and every Thursday so be sure to stop through after work Thursdays!
Sat., Aug 31, the LCUPN crew (Carl and Sean Presents), along with Follow Ya DJs, is hosting a Labor Day day party on the rooftop at Lava Cantina in The Colony, just a couple of miles west of Shops at Legacy Plano. This spot has been hosting a lot of R&B and Hip Hop friendly after work and weekend events, so The Colony is definitely on the map. LCUPN also does a regular Thursday-a-month mixer and a weekly Sunday day party at The Woodtop Tavern in north Plano by 121 and Preston (90s old school peppered with new school).
And speaking of Sunday, the folks at HC3 has been holdin’ it down at Blue Martini in the north side of Shops at Legacy Plano every Sunday since last year. For Labor Day weekend Sunday, they are bringing in the big guns, DJ Spinderella, to make it all lit. Better RSVP with them quick to get $5 before 430pm, or they will sell out.
Need we say more? Oh yeah, if you’re into a blend of hip hop, EDM, and uptempo fusion vibes, Kai in Legacy West is becoming the spot for the grown, sexy and upscale. On weekend nights they’re open till 2am with a cool azz DJ in a sophisticated, dim lit, very nicely decorated vibe on the second floor, with sweeping views of Windrose Avenue, the main village road through the elegant shopping area. Up north in Frisco is The Star, where the Dallas Cowboys have their world headquarters. Concrete Cowboy and Sushi Marquee both have lit weekend nights till late late, with 2nd floor views of the very well designed complex. Might be missing a few other night spots up here, but you get the idea. Stay with us as your upscale urban lifestyle magazine!
