Side activities: There are some watch parties across DFW, so if interested, check them out. There’s one at Park Avenue in Dallas from 10am – 2pm. Kenichi in Victory Park near American Airlines Stadium and W Hotel has a happy hour for OU Texas alums. And House of Blues has an OU Texas soiree from 10pm till 2am…
The annual Red River Showdown (or rivalry, or shootout, or whatever you deign to call it) has an early kickoff this year (11 am) so Texas and OU fans will have to wake up pretty early to pregame for this one. Oklahoma’s had the edge in recent history, winning four out of five games, and with Texas having a near-disastrous season, there’s a lot at stake football-wise. More importantly, this game is one of the biggest, rowdiest, most entertaining social occasions of the year smack dab in the middle of Fair Park with the fair itself in full swing.
