Will AI Leave You Jobless, On the Streets This Winter? Act now before it’s too late!

Brothas and sistas, how many of you remember my videos over the past couple of years where I warned you not to assume AI and machine learning can’t replace your jobs any time soon? I strongly advised you to start planning career change immediately because what you think you KNOW about automation is actually many years behind the reality. They haven’t told the public the full truth about how astonishingly advanced they are with AI.

Before ChatGPT was unleashed in Nov 2022, most people had no clue about what AI can do. About 8 months later, not only do most people know about it, there are already predictions that hundreds of millions of workers will lose their jobs over the next 5 years. The World Economic Forum just released a study that predicts this ominous future.

There’s a video on YouTube, from the AI Uncovered channel, that identifies 11 industries that AI will shut down. I’ll leave a link to it on the Affluent Blacks website. But my people, I’m warning you right now, a whole lot of our jobs are in some of those 11 industries. For example, those of you who do tax prep and bookkeeping kinds of jobs and businesses, your days are numbered. If you do any kind of clerical or executive admin work, switch it up right now.

If your job deals with writing and copyrighting in any way, don’t sleep. Even junior level coders and programmers are in trouble. Graphic designers…don’t sleep on this. Language translators, too.

Manufacturing and assembly line kinds of work are on the chopping block. This one might be surprising because just the other day, I saw a report that said these kinds of jobs are not threatened by AI any time soon because they are the kind of manual labor that robots can’t easily replace. So who do you believe?

You can believe me as I do this for a living. The robots CAN do these kinds of jobs. Never assume they can’t. Technology is changing must faster than you can begin to realize. In a world that loves money more than it loves humans, they are more than eager to throw you out of your job with AI. And you know what this means?

Business is war! Even as an employee, you’re a soldier, a pawn, in this war you didn’t know you were fighting. That means you need a new way of thinking about your job or business. You need the right weapons and tools to not only defend yourself in this business world, but to also go on the offensive and stay ahead of the enemy. In this case, your best weapon is to learn the new technology and figure out how to position yourself to continue making money in the new AI reality.

I strongly recommend you study AI, particularly ChatGPT and related technologies, every day, at least 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Then I want you to google “AI Prompt Engineering.” This is a fancy way of saying how do you ask ChatGPT the right questions to get the right answers. For example, for those who are tax preparers, go to chat.openai.com and type the following:

“Explain how as a 1040 tax preparer in the United States, what’s the best way to prepare taxes for a 40 year old female marketing executive making $150,000 per year and has 2 children under 18?”

You’ll be surprised at the amount of info it spits out. As you get used to it, you can expand on this question for more complex scenarios. Continuing our example, you can then ask this follow up question:

“What are the most common Deductions and Credits for this kind of taxpayer?”

Notice I used the words “this kind of taxpayer.” The word “this” is very important. It tells ChatGPT that you are using the same topic from the first question to get more advanced answers for a specific scenario. Because the responses from ChatGPT were kinda long, you’ll have to copy and paste the questions yourself. I’ll display most of each response in this video. But notice how knowledgeable ChatGPT is of your work as a tax preparer. It is well known that many of us, especially sistas, are in this field. Executive admin assistants and customer service reps are in trouble, too, so y’all should be using prompt engineering as a way to gain an advantage at work right now so that your managers, who most likely are still late to the AI game, will see more value in you. Meanwhile, you should be learning new skills so that you can work with AI instead of against it.

I can go on and on per industry. But one last one I’ll cover real quick are my trucking people. Many of us are in trucking. Some of y’all still have this assumption that ain’t no way an autonomous truck or robot can take the place of truckers, because there are so many factors and decisions involved. But my friends, if you feel this way, I hate to bust your bubble, but a lot of those scenarios and decisions you make are automatable. The only thing holding them back is public fear of big rigs driving with no humans. I highly recommend truckers get used to ChatGPT. Copy and paste the following question to get started:

“How can generative AI help trucking companies manage their trucks?”

ChatGPT will give you a long list of tasks it can perform. Learn all of these tasks if you don’t already, and then start doing more prompt engineering so that you get a competitive advantage over those truckers who still refuse to believe AI can take over their jobs. If you run a trucking company, try to incorporate ChatGPT and similar AI technologies in your company ASAP. Encourage your truckers and employees to also get used to ChatGPT so that your company stays ahead of the game, and potentially make even more money than you are now. If you need help with this, let me know as I’m a consultant.

It’s big technology shifts like AI where lots of money is made. The Industrial Revolution of the 1800s led to immense wealth for those who jumped in early. Same thing happened when the internet was introduced in the 1990s. Take advantage of the tech gold rush before the late comers jump in. What are your thoughts?
