That’s fine, but I think she should have sold her supply chain operation as a service so that she could then sell her hair and beauty business to someone else. She could then charge them for supply chain management. Next, she could’ve serviced black clothing manufacturers, food companies/farmers, oil companies, insurance products, funeral home supplies, and other types of black owned businesses.

But why don’t the history books tell us to follow the true money trail?

Today, a lot of us preach to each other that we need our own businesses and infrastructure. But what many fail to realize is that indeed, we did! Between the mid 1890s until around 1905 (and even beyond), we were pretty much self sufficient in many cities across the nation. In other words, we were a nation within a nation. Oh, but “they” couldn’t have that. We were a significant threat, not only from and independence standpoint, but also because back then, our people knew the REAL truth about our identity and property ownership.
